Smarty error: unable to read resource

<br /><b>Warning</b>: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "addons/helpdesk/Sales/mail_subj.tpl" in <b>/home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/lib/templater/Smarty.class.php</b> on line <b>1095</b><br />

This "Smarty error" happens when you upload the helpdesk addon on top of an existing installation which wipes out the existing mail template directories which are automatically created from the "base" directory" when you create a new department. Their are two fixes available however we recommend using the second fix.

First Fix: (not recommended for live installations)

The easy fix is to just delete all your departments and re-create them.

Second Fix:

FTP to your server and browse to:
./skins/[YOUR_SKIN_NAME]/mail/addons/helpdesk/(base)

The error is telling you that the "Sales" mail templates directory is missing and cannot be found so just rename the "base" directory "Sales" and then browse to the "Helpdesk Addon" located on your local computer and browse to the directory:

./var/skins_repository/base/mail/addons/helpdesk/(base)

and re-upload the "base" directory to your server at:
./skins/[YOUR_SKIN_NAME]/mail/addons/helpdesk/(base)

Do this for every directory that needs re-built and test the system to make sure you are recieving the emails.
